BOARD


The Regulating Board is the management entity of the Designations of Origin “Málaga”,  “Sierras de Málaga” and “Pasas de Málaga”, Representation, defence, guarantee, training, research, market development and innovation and, promotion of wines and raisins protected by the Regulating Board, are its main objectives.


The Regulating Board’s entities are the Plenary and the Presidency. The members registered with the board, natural and legal persons, holders of the vineyards, wineries and raisin industries, must comply with the Regulations published in the Official Andalusian Gazette, by order of the Regional Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries. The Regulating Board Plenary is made up of 20 members, 14 representatives of the wine-growing sector (7 wine-growers and 7 winery-owners), and 6 from the raisin sector (3 wine-growers and 3 industrialists), and the president. Moreover, the Regional Ministry of Agriculture designates a representative, with the power of opinion but no voting rights, who attends the meetings of the Regulating Board.


The Regulating Board count on administrative and technical staff for the fulfilment of its purposes, which includes a holder of the General Secretary who attends to the Plenary sessions, with the power of opinion but no voting rights, and carries out the administrative and financial duties.
